The rate table is used to setup fees that are variable in nature and allows the user to enter different step levels to calculate charges for their Business License.
Explanation
To setup a new rate the following fields need to be entered.
Rate Name - Name to be used to identify the rate
Rate Abbreviation - An abbreviated name to make it easier to lookup rates
Rate Description - A description that identifies the rate
Flat Rate Items Also Required (Check Box)
Print What on Applications (Rate Tables or Notes radio group) Either print the rate on application or the notes
Unit Description - Typically this would be employees. This is used to identify what units are being measured
Minimum Fee - This is the Minimum fee that can be charged on a rate
Maximum Fee - This is the Maximum fee that can be charged on a rate
Once the above fields have been entered, at least one step level is required to be entered in the grid to calculate the business license fee.
Grid fields are as follows.
Limit ( Number of Employees)
Unit (Unit to Calculate by)
Rate Amount (Amount per Unit)
Base amount (Base Amount Per Step Level)
Auto-Calculate Functionality for Rates Grid
If the first rate entered is updated, base amounts will be auto-calculated for all rates when focus leaves the Limit, Unit, Rate and Base Amount text boxes. If subsequent rates are updated, base amounts will only be updated for rates that follow the rate that was changed.
If a user wishes to just enter base amounts without a rate calculation, they may do so by entering in the desired base amounts sequentially.
If a user wishes to add a new rate at the end of the table that has a limit less than their existing maximum limit, they must first save their change before tabbing off one of the fields in the table.
