Documentation for all handheld types
Recent Changes:
6.173 - Modification for the Beacon handheld type import to be able to import readings for meters with alphanumeric serial numbers.
6.169 - Modification to Type Z (DataMatic RouteSTAR) import to be able to import accounts with a "D" at the end of the account number.
6.137 - Added logic to use the actual reading date for Neptune Type S meter uploads rather than the scheduled reading date if the option is selected in the utility billing handheld setup in the utility billing setup
6.106 - Added logic to not overwrite current readings for meters when uploading a hand held file if the system setting to 'Overwrite current readings' is not set.
6.92 - Made sure that if the flag is set to "upload meter readings/Read sequences for inactive meters" on the Hand Held tab in the system file, that the meter reading is getting populated when the hand held is uploaded
6.86 - Made a change to hand held import to not write a demand reading if the rate for that meter does not have demand.
6.84 - Added an "Include location addresses" check box to the screen. If this is checked the locations' street numbers and street names will be printed on the report as a secondary detail below the main detail of the report. This option will be saved as a user preference when changed, so the system will remember which option was selected last upon reentry of the screen.
Refer to bottom of page for changes prior to version 6.80
Introduction
A user can update meters within SmartFusion with new meter readings by choosing a handheld type and a file to import into SmartFusion.
Explanation
Fields found on the "Upload Meter Readings to Handheld System" screen:
Current handheld type - All handheld types that have been setup within the Utility Billing System File can be selected. The specifications for the selected handheld will be used for the purpose of importing new readings.
File - The file containing the new readings that will be imported. This value is populated automatically from the Utility Billing System File settings for the selected handheld type. Clicking the button at the end of the field allows the user to select a different import file.
Read date - Allows user to select the read date to be written for all imported meter readings (Handheld type 'K' only)
Troubleshooting
For a more detailed breakdown of each handheld type, refer to the Handheld Types page.
Changes Prior to Version 6.80
6.79 - Fixed a bug that allowed readings to go to inactive locations when the handheld import only contained serial number and/or ert id.
6.73 - Changed logic to import readings from vacant locations. If the location is vacant and its reading is not equal to the previous reading the system will record the reading and generate an exception ("Vacant location with usage")
6.72
- Allowed decimal demand readings to be imported as decimal numbers based on system setting. Previously all demand reading were being rounded to whole numbers.
- Fixed bug that would add a new meter reading instead of overwriting an existing meter reading if that reading wasn't billed.
6.55 - Added Beacon handheld option.
6.43/6.44 - Corrected bug that wouldn't allow Z-Type handhelds to import correctly.
6.37 - Ensuring that readings go to the correct meter location when meters have been on the same location more than once.
6.36 - Modified the import logic to add a new type of exception, "Customer is finalized". This exception will occur when the system finds a meter and/or account, but the customer location has been finalized. The reading will not be written.
6.22 - Modified logic for Z-Type to include new Z2-Type (Radix with Demand)
6.12 - Changed the logic when importing readings to SmartFusion to omit finalized customer locations and inactive meters
