Screen Functionality
There are certain limitations to what you may modify or delete.
If an existing transaction has been posted or completely paid off you may not edit it
If the transaction has been posted or billed you may not delete it
Certain functionality happens behind the scenes automatically when adding or adjusting a transaction ties to a transaction code that has the option to automatically record a payment set on it.
If you modify the amount of the transaction the offsetting payment amount will be adjusted if it can be found. The payment amount is located by searching through transactions for the customer location and grabbing the first one that matches. If a match is found using the criteria listed below then the amount on that transaction will change to be the new offsetting amount of the charge
- Invoice Number
- Transaction Date
- Transaction Time
- Customer Location Id
- Offsetting amount to the charge
If you delete the transaction the same criteria listed above will be used to locate and delete the offsetting payment record.
If you add a transaction then a payment transaction will be created behind the scenes to pay off the newly created charge.
Adjust Usage
If you are entering or editing a charge tied to a transaction code with the option to track usage you may enter an amount that will effect usage. You enter the amount and then select a meter tied to the customer location you have selected. The meter and usage are both saved on the transaction record
Taxable functionality
When clicking the checkbox for taxable, a box for percentage and one for taxcode will pop up. This allows you to add new transaction that will be the tax from the adjustment above it. This will only be based on the percentage entered above, and a label below will reflect the change.
