Continue bank reconciliation
This will take you into the same process as Create Bank Reconciliation. If SmartFusion cannot determine a prior bank reconciliation it will prompt user for a previous statement end date and the ending balance.Edit starting balance
When editing the starting balance of an reconciliation all of the subsequent reconciliation starting and ending balances will be updated\calculated based on the new ending and starting balance as well as cleared activity totals.
Trouble-Shooting
This is possible if user has only been using the process to clear checks. When doing so even though a bank reconciliation is displayed it is not a true reconciliation. It will show the cleared checks in the Reconciliation Report but will not display a cleared total in the summary section
To resolve this issue the user will need to
- edit the starting balance of the reconciliation they wish to fix even if it is correct. If the balance is incorrect fix it or just click ok to run the process.
- If the ending balance is not correct and/or the the above scenario is found the user will need to continue bank reconciliation for that statement date. In most cases the user will just need to reconcile the reconciliation.
- User will need to edit the starting balance for the same reconciliation and keep the same balance as per the process in step 1. This will recalculate all the ending balances moving forward.
- If there are future reconciliations that are incorrect restart at step 1 on that reconciliation statement date and process until all reconciliations are correct.
